YOU

When my kids were young we rarely did any photo shoots, they just weren't agreeable enough. So as they have gotten older we try to do a photo shoot every year on their birthday, I can't say they particularly like to do it but they are good kids and humor me! I chose this particular photo shoot because I loved the colors and the page kit!

When we did this photo shoot we wanted to capture some of the things that make Tyler who he is, so we took pictures of him with his ipod, because he loves music, it is a major part of his life, but  Obviously the most important part of his life is his mother right? What teenager wouldn't think that? At least that's what I tell myself everyday!

This is another storytellers club pack...LOVE THEM! I loved the way the colors in this pack complimented the pictures and all of the tags went so well!  I love that storytellers pretty much comes with everything you  need for your page, even the background paper. I usually just add a few odds and ends to make it look complete. each of the tags had little circles printed on them that look like brads, but I like a little dimension to my pages, so I pulled some matching brads and put them right over the top of the printed ones. The punchouts on the side I mounted on more metal tags and added buttons. At the bottom of the arrow border I just added some matching ribbons and fibers. The only thing I wish I would have done with this page is maybe mounted some of the punchouts on chipboard or possibly have put them on my page using pop dots to make them stand out a little more. Other than that I love the way the page turned out, it made me realize that portrait pages aren't as hard as you think they will be.
I wish I would have kept up on the portraits from the time the boys were little, I probably would have caught some really funny candid shots!

Family

For a long time I had a hard time getting family pictures taken. Mostly because of the expense, but my mom got a new camera and was willing to take the pictures for us, that made it a lot easier on the wallet! Now that the kids are older it's even harder because we can't get everyone together, let alone coordinate clothes, because everyone knows that is a must if you're going to have a family picture taken! This was one of our funnest family photo shoots! I only have one regret! Bryan and I should have gotten in there and jumped in the air with our kids! Although I'm not sure jumping like that is a good idea for me, not quite sure if I would land on my feet!
This page is done with a storytellers club pack! I just love them! We used to get the greatest deals at the scrapbook expo, but they haven't been there in awhile. I also have to give credit to my mom for helping me with the layout! I knew I wanted to scrapbook the pictures and knew what storytellers pack I wanted to use, but was not coming up with any ideas on how to lay it out. She is really good at putting pages together and all of her pages are cute! I used Kiwi Lane templates. The pattern paper is from Three bugs in a Rug. I love love love their paper! I have almost one full paper box with just Three Bugs paper in it.

I inked the edges of everything and added a few buttons and brads. Easy Peasy! Best thing about storytellers is that it has everything you need in it, borders, sayings, punch outs!
Favorite picture on the page? The picture in the corner, with my son pouting I think it's so funny! Mostly because it is a fake pout! I have so much fun with my boys, they make me laugh everyday!
Super fun pictures and a super fun and easy layout!

Toy Story Mania!

One of my favorite rides at Disneyland turned into one of my favorite scrapbook layouts ever!  Being a lover of all the Toy Story movies, naturally I had to run right out and buy the Toy Story Cricut cartridge.  It's been one of my best purchases--could these toys be any cuter?

So here's the rundown of the supplies I used for this page:
  • The patterned paper with primary colors and the punch outs came from a Storyteller's Club pack called "Play" (appropriately).
  • The yellow background paper is from Three Bugs in a Rug.
  • All the little Toy Story characters and the title are from the Toy Story cartridge.
  • The letters for the word "mania" came from the Mini Monograms cartridge (and the little blocks behind them are handmade.)
  • The shooting gallery ducks are from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.
  • The "midway" letters are some little wooden scrabble stickers I had hanging around.  Unfortunately I don't remember where they came from, but I love them and wish I could get my hands on some more of them.
  • The wavy lines I cut using Kiwi Lane Designs templates.  Very awesome when you're not quite sure what to do with your patterned paper.

This title idea I scraplifted from a digital page I found on the web somewhere, although it's not exactly the same.  I'm not a digital scrapbooker, so I had to figure out how to make it work with paper.  The little army guys are so amazingly cute but a little hard to cut (because I made them small).  After screwing them up a few times and resigning myself that a new blade was required, they finally cut nicely.  I love them!

The shooting gallery ducks are by far the crowning achievement on this page (okay...maybe not.  It might be the army men.  Some harsh words were uttered in the making of the army men).  I knew they would be hard, especially with their little targets on them, but they turned out so cute with little google eyes!  They are just glued on thin black strips of cardstock.

What's a Toy Story page without the aliens?  They are my favorite!  Since the aliens were pointing up, I felt it appropriate that they actually point at something.  Cute little adorable aliens.  They're so precious.  Trip to Disneyland, anyone?
